As I continued through my letter study I switched up to the classic Black, Grey, and Blues. You can never go wrong here with this color combo. Switching over from Red it felt as a natural progression to drop in the “cool down”. In this series of paintings this was the first time I used tape to mask off areas. I really liked the way this naturally provided a border and negative space.

Graffiti in its most traditional form is the letter. Here, is one of several foundation studies I have been completing over the last several months. These pieces are a result of breaking down the letter structure. These are just fragments of shapes left for the viewer’s interpretation. A minimalist approach which allows a deeper connection.
